The weather finally changes (a little bit)
The weather report today predicted thunderstorms, so I dutifully brought my raincoat to the university. And I was rewarded!
My neighbors across the way checked the weather this morning. They did not approve. |
It was actually cool this morning, though not raining, and this afternoon after I emerged from lunch it was actually raining. Real rain, enough to make the sidewalks wet and to make me put up my hood. It stopped after about half an hour, and it wasn't a downpour, but it's kind of a relief as further proof that this lovely city is actually real.
The news this evening said that the rain was too little to refill the sadly depleted reservoirs, but that it had broken a drought of 49 days. The temperature today was a high of around 70 Fahrenheit (about 21 C), and a low of about 50/12. Tomorrow it's supposed to barely reach 60 (17) and fall into the forties (9). So fall is slowly arriving. My next door neighbors (pictured above) will not be pleased. But I'm glad I didn't waste an entire suitcase filling it with winter clothes instead of the other things I could have brought.
